Balclutha Primary school welcomes foreign fee paying students.
We are developing our ability to be a signatory to the 'Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students'
General Information
Applicants must be able to prove they meet all New Zealand Immigration requirements.
Fees are set at $7,500 per annum (2006)plus GST paid in advance.
The above fee includes Ministry of Education charges.
Refunds will be extended on pro rata basis in accordance with the school Policy.
Fees will cover all tuition fees throughout the year. They do not include education outside the classroom, special trips or performances, which are covered under the school activity donation.
A qualified ESOL teacher will be employed for up to five hours per week upon enrolment. The hours of employment and duration of employment of the ESOL teacher will be negotiable between the school and the teacher depending on the needs of the child.
A teacher aide will be available for part of the day to assist with individual instructions and small group activities.
Upon Enrolment
Upon enrolling parents and or caregivers are expected to do the following:
- Complete enrolment form
- Sign Tuition Agreement
- Supply copies of either a Visitors Permit or Student Permit (Student Permit necessary twelfth week in New Zealand)
- Pay school activity donation
- Pay tuition fee
- Purchase appropriate stationery
