2019 Strategic Plan

Curriculum (NAG 1)
All students are able to access the New Zealand Curriculum and show progress  against curriculum progressions reading writing and Mathematics
Identify areas through internal and external evaluation that need strengthening. Our aim is to improve outcomes for students through improving teaching and learning
Teachers are supported to improve pedagogy, teaching, learning and assessment practice which leads to increased student progress and achievement
Align achievement challenges and strategic plan with the Big River Cluster Kahui Ako Community of Learning
Government priority student groups of Maori and Pacifica are achieving the same as their classmates.
Students with special education needs who require learning support are meeting their individual education plan goals.
Implement Reading Recovery Programme
Contribute to the success of our Pacific Students
Raise the achievement of our Maori Students
Update and maintain IT requirements
Deliver Accelerate Learning programme in Mathematics (ALiM)

Self Review (Nag 2)

Gather data to inform teachers of cohorts and identify trends and patterns of achievement
Teachers use formative practice to meet the needs and interests of students
Alternative programmes and approaches are investigated and implemented where appropriate to meet the diverse needs of learners
Ensure communication strategies work for any new BOT members
Implement recommendations of ERO report

Employment and Personnel

Ensure all employment policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure representation on committees appropriate to education in our district. This will  include RTLB, RTLit, Attendance service, SOPA, SOPSSA, COL and cultural committees.
Targeted and managed PD opportunities are available and all legal requirements adhered to

Finance and Property

Maintain the school resources and plant to ensure the very best opportunities for learning.

Health and Safety

Promote healthy food and sun safe routines for all students
Ensure all appropriate legal requirements including evacuation and hazard identification are carried out.
Attend and review Health and safety in the workplace guidelines
​Continue with the  long-term strategy to ensure appropriate surfaces are available  and able to be utilized. Hard court areas and grass areas are essential to for the well being of our students.
