Targets 2019

Strategic aim: All students are able to access the New Zealand Curriculum showing achievement against National Standards
We aim to have all students make progress and in particular accelerate the progress of children reading below the level of the school expectations.

​Target One: Reading:
Target 1. We aim to increase the proportion of  males who are making progress in reading

Baseline data 2018
27 (34%) of boys compared to 13(15%) of girls are reading below or well below their expected level. A drop of 13% boys and 9% girls lessening the gap of 26% at the end of term 3 by 7 % by the end of term four to a difference of 19%.
While 82% of boys made sufficient or accelerated progress overall they have less chance of achieving compared to the girls.



Target Two; Mathematics We aim to have all students make progress and in particular accelerate the progress of children achieving below the level of the school expectations. We aim to lift the achievement of boys in maths.
Baseline data 2018 :
31 (39%) of boys compared to 20(22.5%) of girls are working below or well below their expected level. (A difference of 13% in term 3, and now a 18.5% in term 4)
Girls have 79.5% chance of making sufficient or accelerated progress compared to 70% of boys. (Boys have 9.5% less chance of making progress in term 4, a change around and 13.5% drop since term 3)



Target Three (Writing) : Aim to reduce the disparity between the achievement of girls and boys in writing
Baseline writing data 2018:
43 (53.5%) of boys compared to 12(13%) of girls are writing below or well below their expected level. A difference of 40.5%. (a decrease of 0.5%)
Girls have 89% chance of making sufficient or accelerated progress compared to 54.5% of boys, a difference of 34.5%. (Closing the gap by 8.5% in term 4)
